In lands of endless vistas, majestic castles, and rolling hills, there’s a certain beauty about video games. And while from the outside they may look pretty, with a nice sense of community, beauty is not gaming’s truth. On Twitch, the truth is ugly.

Here, aspiring professionals tease middle-school competitors, while middle-school players curse out like grown men. Minecraft wonders are blown to smithereens, noble knights terrorized by power-hungry savages, and the beautifully rendered, CGI hills are painted red in blood. While the streams go on forever, every game ends in death.
